Best Memories in France I

The three chickens were a part of our big family. I find Yannick so attached to them even though he doesn't want to admit it. Here are the proofs: 1) he comes home everyday during 1 hour of lunch break to pet and play with them. 2) every night before going to sleep, he says good night and every morning before he leaves, he makes sure they are ok. 3) he calls them "the best gift ever" to his life. 4)One time he even told me that he woke up in the middle of the night, and found the chickens on the trees. He wanted to help them get down the tree and he was hugging them and more.....yeh, it gets a bit weird from this point on. My reaction on the other hand was, "did you pluck their feather? I could use a nice bookmark." =P

Here I cooked myself a great chicken leg. They almost attacked me wanting to eat their own flesh. Ah..... les poulets.. I must say, it was nice to get up in the morning, and find fresh eggs ready.

The hammick (not the same one in this photo) hanging in the garden is where you would most likely to find me, eating fruits from our cherry tree and raspberry bush, taking down immature pears and figs, admiring Yannick's tomato and melon garden.

Sometimes I daydream about being on the "little miss Sunshine" bus in our backyard. Where would I go? To Africa? Just because that sounds so far away. I can never figure out if Xavi is finished, or will ever finish working on this forever expanding adventure car of his. He too comes home straight to the backyard, and works incessantly on his car. Later this year though, Xavi and Cami really are going to Africa on a bus... If there is a magical bus that can take you wherever you want to go, where would you go? =)
Our big old house is filled with intriguing things that get me to scratch my head sometimes. Just to give you some ideas: the shower tank only supplies 10 minutes of hot water; in every room, there is a fire place but no chimney; the kitchen is connected to a room with stairs that goes no where; and most embarrassingly, our bathroom is outside. This means when it rains, we have to take an umbrella to go to the bathroom !

Speaking of embarrassment, it took me a long time to get over doing laundry here. You don't use a dryer, instead, you hang all your cloth on the rack and let it sun dry.... -_-.. hmn... I was so shy from showing off all my cloth even after all my roommates reassured me over and over again. I finally had to do it after running out of clean underwears. Please don't enlarge this picture to look at my "french lingerie" please. (stop! I know that's what you are tempted to do!)

Next to our house, is the garonne which I followed to move from Bordeaux to Toulouse. It is 647km according to Wikipedia. Again this number means nothing to me, but it does mean that I biked 4 and half hours for 70 km to go from Toulouse to Castlenaudry for a concert, which I have lost the tickets for at the door. I don't know how, but I still managed to get in and sing "çera tout? Non! Avec ceci? (pas avec saucisse comme je toujours imainge, mais tu sais Toulouse est connue pour la saucisse?) Oui!" with the crowd.

How Yannick convinced me to bike for hrs with him was beyond me, but in comparison, that was such a cake. My amazing roommates. The girl who lived in my room, whose name is Su, went on a biking trip for 1 WHOLE month traversing Italy and parts of Eastern Europe to Croatia by herself. Here is Yannick going to join Su in Italy.

The night before I left France with Cami, Xavi, Yannick, Hou Xiang, Xing Heng, too bad Sebast was not there. We made our classic barbecues and had a great time as always.

Here, everyone tried to imitate an animal. I can proudly make a good sheep and a cow. Cami made a hilarious fish, Xavi's imitation of a cock was unbeatable, everyone was great except Yannick made a stupid frog and no one knew what he was doing....

Here he is again trying to get everyone involved in this Japanese drinking game. Don't ask...

Cheers to all the good times we have had together Toulousians!
